Months of diligent planning, organizing and designing by the Tucson Fashion Collective went into producing Tucson’s first fashion week. Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Tucson on Sept. 25, 2010 to peruse vendor booths and see the best of what local Tucson designers had to offer.
Leading up to TFW, previews of the event were run by news outlets such as The Arizona Daily Star, Tucson Weekly, Zocalo Magazine and KOLD 13. They also attended and covered our opening reception at the Tucson Museum of Art where designers and politicians such as Pima County Supervisor, Richard Elias, discussed the importance of our emerging fashion industry.
All proceeds from the show were donated to Skrappy’s All- Ages Youth Venue. The public was invited to an open house at Skrappy’s where they viewed student art and learned about the public services it offers to Tucson’s youth. Over $3,000 was donated to their cause.
